The Facilities
At Edmund Street Activity Centre, we have created a safe, comfortable and fully accessible environment. Our facilities are designed to provide day care for adults with learning and social needs, supporting a wide range of needs and giving every visitor the freedom to take part in activities that suit them.

We believe the right environment makes a huge difference. So we have carefully developed each area of our centre to feel welcoming, calm and enjoyable for everyone. Creating enjoyable day care service experiences for whoever comes through our doors.
Our facilities support adults aged over 16 (no upper limit) with social needs to include Learning Disabilities, Autism, Physical and Mental Health needs to include Dementia. Everything has been designed with care. From our activity rooms to our sensory spaces. All to ensure people feel relaxed, engaged and well supported throughout their day.
A Safe and Comfortable Setting
Our centre is designed to be fully accessible, with wide access areas, level flooring and comfortable communal spaces. We want visitors to feel at ease as soon as they arrive. Our rooms are bright, welcoming and arranged to support both group activities and quieter moments.
We offer two large rooms that are used for arts and crafts, games, social time and structured group sessions. These spaces are flexible and can be adapted to suit the needs of the people attending each day. Whether someone prefers a lively group activity in our large rooms or a gentler calmer environment in our sensory, Rainbow or Garden Rooms we make sure there is the space that feels right for them.

Sensory and Reminiscence Rooms
Our sensory room provides a peaceful, calming environment where visitors can relax, unwind and enjoy gentle sensory stimulation. This space is especially helpful for people who benefit from a quieter setting.
Soft lighting, sensory equipment and comfortable seating help create a soothing atmosphere. This enables individuals to take time out when needed. We also offer a reminiscence space. This room is ideal for gentle conversation, memory-based activities and calming moments. It is used regularly throughout the week to support wellbeing and relaxation.

Daily Living Skills Kitchen
Our daily living skills kitchen is a key part of our centre. It allows visitors to take part in cooking sessions, simple food preparation and other activities that help build independence.
Staff support individuals at a level that suits their abilities. Making sure the experience is safe, enjoyable and confidence-boosting. This space is also used for group activities and demonstrations. It gives visitors the chance to develop practical skills in a friendly, supportive setting.

Freshly Prepared Meals On Site
We have our own kitchen facilities where we prepare home-style meals every day. Visitors enjoy breakfast, a two-course lunch and afternoon snacks, along with hot and cold drinks throughout the day.
We believe that good food is essential for wellbeing. Meals are served in a relaxed and friendly environment, with staff on hand to support anyone who needs help during mealtimes.

Our Enclosed Garden Area
We are proud to offer a safe, fully enclosed garden where visitors can enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise and time outdoors. The garden provides a quiet, relaxing space away from the main activity rooms.
It is ideal for nature-based activities, outdoor games or simply enjoying a peaceful moment in the sunshine. The garden is fully accessible, making it a popular part of the centre. Especially for those who enjoy spending time outside.
