How to Book a Free Taster Day

Booking a taster day is simple. We welcome enquiries from families, carers, Social Services and support workers.

Visit the centre

You are welcome to come and look around before the taster day. Many families find this helpful and reassuring.

Attend the centre

The individual will join us for a typical day at the centre. Our team will offer full support and make sure they feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

Review and plan next steps

After the taster day, we will talk through how things went and discuss the best support route going forward.

What a Day at Edmund Street Looks Like

A taster day follows the same structure as a typical day at the centre. This gives people a real feel for what everyday life with us is like.

Morning

The day begins with a warm welcome, breakfast and a hot drink. Mornings often include arts and crafts, gentle exercise, games or time spent in our sensory and reminiscence rooms. These sessions are calm and enjoyable, helping people build confidence at a pace that feels right for them.

Lunch

Lunch is cooked fresh in our own kitchen and served as a home-style, two-course meal. Good food plays a big part in wellbeing, so we make sure every visitor enjoys a nutritious and comforting lunch. Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day.

Afternoon

Afternoons offer a mix of group activities, music, social time and daily living skills sessions. Some days we head out into the community for walks or park visits. These outings help people enjoy new experiences and gain confidence outside of the centre.
