Fun every day

Activities & Outings

At Edmund Street Activity Centre, every day is filled with activities that bring joy, confidence and a sense of purpose. Our aim is simple. We want every person to feel engaged, supported and included throughout their day with us.

Going round and round!
Everyday Heroes

Our activities are designed for adults over the age of 16 with learning disabilities / Autism, social or physical needs and mental health including Dementia. Everything we do is planned with care, adapted when needed and delivered by a team who genuinely enjoy seeing people thrive.

Meaningful Activities Every Day

Our daily activities offer something for everyone. Whether someone enjoys arts and crafts, singing and dancing, karaoke, beauty treatments, Makaton lessons, chair based exercises, garden games in spring and summer, TV quiz and board games in the centre, or simply spending time with friends, there is always something enjoyable to take part in.

Activities are varied throughout the week to keep things fresh, engaging and confidence-building.

We often use our Sensory, Rainbow and Garden Rooms for calm relaxing sessions. These rooms help people unwind, feel comfortable and enjoy a quieter part of the day, especially if they find busy environments challenging.

Group activities are an important part of our day care service. They help people build friendships, social confidence and a sense of belonging.

PARTNERSHIP

Themed Activity Days
with Rise

We regularly host themed activity days at Edmund Street Activity Centre in partnership with Rise. These sessions bring extra variety, creativity and energy into the centre, giving visitors the chance to enjoy something a little different while still feeling safe and supported in a familiar environment.

Rise specialise in inclusive, community-based activities that focus on wellbeing, confidence and enjoyment.

Our Regular Outings

We believe that getting out into the community is an important part of wellbeing. Our outings are safe, supported and enjoyable, giving people a chance to experience new places and enjoy time outdoors.

Walks in Local Parks

Enjoy fresh air and gentle exercise in beautiful surroundings

Gentle Nature Walks

Connect with nature at a comfortable pace

Local Community Visits

Shopping, fresh air and social interaction

These trips help people stay active and experience a change of scenery. They are always supervised by our trained staff and planned around the needs and comfort levels of the group.

Building Confidence Through Experience

The aim of our activities and outings is not just to fill time. It is to help every person grow in confidence, discover new interests and enjoy a sense of achievement. Whether it is completing a craft project, joining in with a music session or taking part in a group walk, we celebrate every step forward.

Activities also play an important role in developing daily living skills. Cooking, basic food preparation and other practical tasks are built into the week to help visitors gain independence and learn useful skills for everyday life.
